The Beliefs Associated With An Olive Grove Baptist Church

By Betty Wagner

There are millions of Baptists all over the world. A good percentage of them are in the United States of America. They are also in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America, Australia, and Asia. Followers of Christianity are more than three billion human beings. This makes Christianity to be the most popular religion on earth. It is also the fastest growing religion with thousands of conversions every week. At any given moment in time, many people are being born Christian. At the heart of an Olive Grove Baptist Church is the unshakable belief in the supremacy of the Holy Bible.

Most of the beliefs of a Baptist come from the New Testament section of scripture and particularly the four gospel books that form the first four chapters of scripture. That does not in any way mean that he does not have regard for other books of the Holy Bible. All Bible books are equally important to a true believer.

Christians believe in eternity. A real believer knows that he will not live forever because earthly life is just but a journey. He understands that there is a day when he will die and that will mark the start of eternal life. One will either go to heaven or hell after his death. It all depends on the earthly actions of a person.

To become a Baptist, one has to be baptized. Thus, it is accurate to conclude that baptism is a core Christian belief. There is no person on earth who will be able to see heaven without being baptized. That is a reality that every Christian should accept and live with if he desires eternal life at the end of the road.

The Baptism process primarily happens through the full immersion into water. That can be the water of a river or a lake. Alternatively, the whole affair can happen in a swimming pool. A pastor will be in charge of baptizing an individual. Before any activity can take place, the water has to first be blessed by the preacher.

One has to accept that he is a sinner. After doing so, he should ask for forgiveness. After the forgiveness of sins, an individual will need to become saved. Salvation is not the end of the road. After becoming saved, one has to repent. This involves totally changing lifestyle. One will need to get rid of his old and sinful lifestyle.

Attending service is a core Christian belief. As a matter of fact, Christianity is not a lone wolf affair. Truly, no man is an Island. That is a popular English saying. One will need to congregate with other believers. There is power in numbers. Attending the Sunday service is crucial. One should also attend a number of weekday services.

Humans are by nature religious. As a matter of fact, the sense of religion is in the DNA of every single human being on earth. There are three major world religions. They are Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Christianity has a number of denominations. One of them is the Baptist Church. There is also Catholicism, Anglicanism, and Lutheranism.
